Abstract Daniel Kimball Pearsons was a successful businessman who, in 1889, donated $100,000 to Beloit College, the first of many donations to the college and to many small, independent colleges throughout the nation. By the time of his death nearly 23 years later, Pearsons had given more than $5 million to higher education, $500,000 of which went to Beloit College. Dolph Stanley was a basketball coach and athletic director at Beloit College from 1945-1957. Stanley's teams won 40 straight Midwest Conference games and six consecutive titles. Ellsworth Huntington collection

Abstract

Ellsworth Huntington, a graduate of the class of 1897, published a significant amount about race, human population, and anthropology. He worked at Euphrates College in Turkey and taught Geology at Yale University. This collection primarily holds original copies of Huntington's publications, both pamphlets and books. There are photocopies of a number of articles about Huntington as well, with two photographs.
